Volunteers for Youth Justice 2010 Champion for Children: Dancing with Our Stars

Join VYJ as we celebrate this year’s annual benefit at the Horseshoe Riverdome Saturday, May 15^th at 7 p.m.  Each year VYJ honors community leaders who go above and beyond by making a difference in the lives of children.  VYJ’s 2010 Champion for Children is:

    First Presbyterian Church Shreveport

In addition to awards ceremony, entertainment will be provided by six couples competing in a dancing competition much like the hit television show Dancing with the Stars.  Professional dancers are paired with local celebrities and trained in   various traditional ballroom dances, performing their routine the night of the benefit. Winners will not only be determined by their dance moves, but also, by which couple generates the most monetary support.  VYJ 2010 Dancing with Our Stars celebrities:

VYJ’s Champion for Children: Dancing with Our Stars assists in fundraising efforts that support VYJ’s mission to help at risk children in our community that are involved in the juvenile court system due to abuse, neglect, and delinquency.  VYJ recruits and trains community volunteers to be advocates, mentors, and teachers for these children by providing programs that focus on abuse & neglect, intervention, and diversion. 

Your support guarantees the important services of Volunteers for Youth Justice will continue to reach children in crisis throughout our community.
